Winter to Spring
To all my readers, take a second and think about the last time you had a thunderstorm, when at the same time, it snowed. Not often, if ever. Well I am in Santa Fe, New Mexico visiting my brother and today was the first time I have ever seen a thunderstorm and snow at the same time. The snow layered the trees and the ground in a blanket of white. It was beautiful. With that said, snow always means that the roads are much more dangerous and therefore extreme caution much be used when out on the roads. The snow may have passed in California but this is something to remember always.
Now the winter has pretty much passed and spring has come, the flowers are blooming and the trees are growing their leaves. Finally the air is feeling warmer and those dresses and short sleeves are coming out of storage. I can honestly say that I am enjoying the new spring shopping! Spring also means that Easter is around the corner. Spring brings daylight savings time, which has already happened. Daylight savings time is when we move our clocks one hour ahead. Isn’t this a weird thing we do? I think so. Did you guys know that it is at two in the morning that our clocks move forward not at twelve? That is was I thought.
I am going to give a little of information about daylight savings because it is something that really is interesting to me. Day was instituted during World War I in order to save energy. In 1966, the Uniform Time Act was passed which standardized the length of Daylight savings time. (About.com) Though this information may not be the most exciting, it is something that affects all of our lives and happens during the spring. Spring to me is one of the most beautiful seasons and we can all look forward to seeing everything bloom and the animals play leading into the summer.
