We have all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but do you start your day off with a healthy breakfast? Having breakfast not only starts you of with better nutrition, if you eat a healthy one that is, but it also helps you have more focused thinking. But what is a healthy breakfast?

When we are on the go, whether we are going to work or taking the kids to school, pouring a sugary cereal or grabbing something out of convenience seems like the easiest thing. But the donut, croissant, Captain Crunch, and Pop Tart are not giving you or your family the nutrients they need. Actually, by eating this type of food you are putting a spike in your insulin level and therefore will not stay satisfied for long and feel hungry again. So then what is a good option for you that is easy and quick? It's called Quinoa Cereal. And for today's John E. Peakes Insurance Agency Foodie Friday I want to share this tasty and very healthy breakfast with you!

Before I share the recipe, I want to share the benefits of quinoa, a nutty flavored grain like seed.

1. It is a protein powerhouse

2. It is an internal cleaners and detoxifier

3. It is filled with calcium

4. Contains vitamin B and iron making it great brain food

5. It is a dieters dream, digesting slowly keeping you satisfied longer and giving you energy to get through the day

So now that you know some great benefits on quinoa, hopefully you are sold on trying it, here is a great recipe from Whole Living Magazine that is easy and the whole family will love.
